Indeed, many microphones will need a stand or an external sound card to connect it to your computer. This is the mode you will mostly use as a podcaster<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: var(--contrast)\">&#8211; The second mode is a very practical <\/span><b style=\"color: var(--contrast)\">Stereo<\/b><span style=\"color: var(--contrast)\"> mode for recording music or ASMR, where you need to have a real differentiation between the right and left channels<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: var(--contrast)\">&#8211; The third is the <\/span><b style=\"color: var(--contrast)\">omnidirectional<\/b><span style=\"color: var(--contrast)\"> mode, which allows a 360-degree sound recording, very practical when you record a discussion around a table with several people, or when you want to capture ambient sounds<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: var(--contrast)\">&#8211; The last mode, the <\/span><b style=\"color: var(--contrast)\">bi-directional<\/b><span style=\"color: var(--contrast)\">, which gives a very good sound recording during face-to-face interviews for example<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong><br>Tip #2: Set yourself at the right distance<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Rule number 2: Set yourself at the right distance. So now I&#8217;m at a good distance but if I move away a little you hear me less if I get too close it will be too loud, so there&#8217;s a need of <b>adjusting your distance<\/b><\/p>\n<p>You need to know that <b>the Blue Yeti is also made to be positioned in front of you while recording<\/b>, and you don&#8217;t have to talk into the top of the the mic as we may do with other types of microphones<\/p>\n<h3><strong><br>Tip #3: Adjust the gain with the rear knob<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Rule number 3 is to adjust the gain with the rear knob. This way you adjust the overall volume of the sound recording, <b>no need to raise your voice too loudly<\/b>. All you have to do is play with the manual gain knob. Very convenient to go with the adjustment of a good distance<\/p>\n<h3><strong><br>Tip #4: Plug in headphones<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>By plugging headphones at the bottom of the mic, <b>you can actually listen to yourself while recording<\/b> and then check if you&#8217;re satisfied with the volume and distance settings. You can also make sure there is no background noise<\/p>\n<h3><strong><br>Tip #5: Do a test!<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The final rule, well it&#8217;s time to do a test! to make sure everything is ok,
